  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¾ cup cake flour
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1215 strawberries (about 1 cup pureed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Puree the trimmed strawberries in a food processor until chunky; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and strawberry puree.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Fill a piping bag with the batter and pipe into greased donut molds halfway full.
  6. Bake for 7-8 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched.
  7. Cool on a wire rack before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk.
