  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Gala) – peeled and diced into ½-inch pieces

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)

  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 8 oz. brick-style cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk or cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
  2. For the crisp topping, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Mix in melted butter until crumbly.
  3. Toss diced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon in another bowl.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and milk. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. For the cream cheese filling, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth; mix in flour, vanilla extract, and egg.

  7. Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool before slicing.
